PBXact & PBXtended Beta Release

We are excited to announce the next major release of PBXact and PBXtended is now in Beta! This release includes many great new features and upgrades based on feedback from our Resellers and Customers. We have added support for many new VoIP phones including the Polycom line.

Key Improvements

  • Upgraded Core Asterisk to 1.8.x branch.
  • Upgraded Linux Kernel.
  • Added Provisioning Support for POLYCOM, GRANDSTREAM, YEALINK, CISCO, SNOM phones from the GUI.
  • Upgraded Speech Engine to add better accuracy efficiency.
  • Rewritten IVR and Speech Recognition for better failover from speech to DTMF.
  • Rewritten Backup Module to give fine grain control over backups and Warm Spare standby systems. This is a template driven module that is extremely
    flexible.
  • Rewritten On Demand Call Recording. This will give more flexibility and better recording handling when calls are Parked or Transferred. Much better
    control over what, and when to record.
  • Added New Caller ID Management Module.
  • Included FAX to Email for FREE with all systems. This is unlimited users.
  • Added DID (Called Number) field to Qxact Reports
  • Added Appointment Reminder Module.
  • Added control over Aastra Templates in the GUI. This allows you to change the button layouts on the phones from the GUI.
  • New CDR Report module to give greater flexibility and all around better reporting capabilities.

When will the release come out of Beta and be available?
We have only just entered the Beta phase with this release. Typically we move from Beta to Final in 30-45 days. Once we have moved out of Beta we will make an announcement via our blog and then start pushing the updates out. How does automated provisioning work with the new supported phones?
Each phone will be fully documented in our Knowledge Base.
